Williamson County Fair

After Grandma's birthday party and a nap, we went to the Williamson County fair with Granddaddy and Grandmerry.  Sam really enjoyed it all, except for touching the animals.  Wonder where he gets that?

Looking at the baby pigs

So cute and little, the babies that is :)

Looking at the goat

"Cheese" with the baby chicks

Looking at the pony from a distance until...
Daddy made him pet it.  He was not a fan!

In the pen with the baby sheep and goats...still did not want to touch.

Sam let Grandmerry do all of the work

"Being a Farmer" -- Sam would not put on his apron

Feeding the chickens

Sam didn't care that the sheep was fake, he still let David brush it instead of him :)

Fishing

Caught one!
Sam really liked getting in the tractor

Planting...

Watering...

Harvesting...the girl telling him what to get could not believe how well he listened.  Instead of grabbing anything, he listened every time she told him to get something different.

Feeding the cow

Milking the cow

"Selling" his goods at the market

"Buying" with the money he earned.  He could choose from animal crackers, milk, ice cream sandwich, or an apple.  What did my child choose?

An apple...and he was so proud!

Sam did not like the "statue"

Going on the big slide...

Yes, Sam is on the ride...

One more time Daddy!  Which one more time to Sam means again, since we do one more time over and over and over :)

The carousel with Granddaddy

Looks like they are having a serious discussion :)

I couldn't resist.  This was the man taking tickets on the carousel, and the man starting it looked the same.  I guess it had been a long day :)

Grandma Church's 85th Birthday Party

August 4th we celebrated Grandma's 85th birthday at Corky's per her request.

Happy birthday Grandma!!  We love you!!!

Summer Fun!!

Since it has been so hot outside we have spent a lot of time playing inside.  We love living so close to cousins that we can play with them.

Macey and Madison love Sam's big blue bear.  They play with him EVERY time they come over :)

They are playing in "Daddy's bed" in Sam's room.  This is where David has to lay while Sam goes to sleep at night.  At least he sleeps all night again :)

Sam loves to hide in the sheets on our bed!
Sam would play in our bed or his room all day if David or I were in there with him.

The 30th Olympiad

We love the Olympics here in the Rosenblum household, so there was a lot of watching them the last few weeks.  The first Sunday night they were on, we decided to bring Moe's home and have a picnic watching the games.

I watched them too, even though I didn't make any of the pictures :)

Huntsville with Brady

The last 2 weeks in July, sweet Tori had to stay in the hospital for her first "tune-up" for Cystic Fibrosis.  She did an awesome job having to stay in one room for 14 days; she never asked to leave.  We are thankful that we live in a city with a CF clinic, so that we could visit her during her stay.  However, being the terrible photographer that I am, I have no pictures of any of those visits :(  I need to talk to Natalie to see if I can fix that.  Anyway, the first weekend that Tori was in the hospital, we were going to Huntsville, so to help Bryan, Nat, and Tori get settled in we took Brady with us to Huntsville.  This is the first time we have taken any of the cousins with us.  Being the know no stranger kid that Brady is, he did great.  He acted like he knew everyone better than Sam did :)  And once again with my problem with taking pictures, we got one for the whole weekend!  Two tired boys after a full weekend :) (Sam was especially tired since he slept on the floor with his daddy most of the night, since it was during his bad sleeping phase, and Brady and I were in the extra bed.  Which by the way we are back to sleeping all night again! YAY!!)

I knew I could count on Nat for some pictures :)  Here is sweet Torbi (not a typo, but what we call her sometimes :) during her hospital stay!

I think Sam is waving a wand in the picture :) Tori was showered with lots of fun things!

A quick update: The original day I posted this update about Sam sleeping again jinxed us because we had a terrible night that night (like no sleep hardly at all) and Sam slept with us the next night.  However, he had a double ear infection, so we got it all worked out :), but I was really mad at myself for posting how well he was sleeping, and then having some bad nights.

Photo Shoot

We had a photo shoot with all the kids in mid July in all of their crab gear.  I am not the photographer of the family, so these aren't the best shots we got, just the ones I took :)

Sweet boys

Sam looking way too old!

It's pretty difficult to get a good picture of all 5 :)

Bad Sleeping and Keys

So we used to have a really good sleeper until about 2 1/2 weeks ago!!  He would go to bed at 8, and we wouldn't hear from him until 7 or 8, 6:30 at the absolute earliest.  He also never wanted to sleep with David and I, and if we put him in bed it would be party time.  So we were all content with him sleeping really well in his own bed.  Unfortunately, things have taken a turn for the worse.  It now takes about an hour to get him to sleep and sneak out of his room.  We have gone from rubbing his back to just lying in his room while he goes to sleep.  And he has also started waking up in the middle of the night.  It started with him waking up and just yelling, "MA, MA, MA, MA" (yes he calls me, "Ma") while standing up.  The first night I think he fell asleep 3 different times standing up, so we would have to go lay him down, which would wake him up!  He would not lie down.  Several nights we have just put him in bed with us, and he actually sleeps.  David has even spent a night on the floor with him when we were in Huntsville because we had taken Brady, so Brady and I were in the bed.  Anyway, to say the least we have lost our good sleeper, and I desperately want to find him. :)  I have started rumors that we are pregnant (which we are not) because I look so tired.  I would let him cry it out, but now he has started leaning over the edge of his crib where it looks like he is going to flip over the edge.  Therefore, several nights David or I have literally run in there to make sure he didn't fall.  Needless to say we are working on getting his big boy bed, and we'll hope that our good sleeper will return...might as well move while we aren't getting any sleep anyway :)  Sorry for the rambling, but I wanted to document.
He was asleep standing up before I took this, but he woke up from the light on the camera

David sneaking out one night after putting Sam to bed
Enough venting :)  Sam is growing so fast, and he is becoming sillier by the day.  He is getting more words, but still prefers his sign language.  One of his favorite words to say right now is "wa-wa" (waffle), and he says Ma, Daddy, and Mimmy about a million times a day.  He loves hitting balls more than shooting at the moment, and he loves playing with keys.

I can't imagine how silly his is going to be when he actually talks because his facial expressions say it all :)
