Happy Birthday Sam!!

Sam turned 2 today, and I can't believe it!!  The other day I asked David how Sam could already be two, and he said that it seemed like a lot of days had gone by :)  I know that the days have gone by, but they flew by!  Everyday with Sam is so much fun.  He is trying to talk a lot more instead of using signs for everything.  He usually tries to repeat several new words everyday.  Today in the car the song, "Deep and Wide" was on and with no one saying anything, he out of nowhere sang, "deep and wide"; the more he did it, it turned into "wide and deep".  We had a fun day with cousins, and can't wait to celebrate with more family this weekend.

Birthday lunch at Chickfila with cousins--we missed Tori who was at school!

At two:
Weight: 26.25 pounds (43 %)
Height: 35 inches (64%)
Still a HUGE momma's boy
Still not a fan of school/Sunday school
Signs most things; saying more words
Over the last week has become a good eater
Favorite foods (at the moment): Bananas, grapes, smoothies, cheese
LOVES balls: hitting, kicking, throwing
Loves playing with balloons

Sam chose his outfit; he looks 5 not 2 :(
He has wanted to wear a crab shirt all summer.

Had to give the sign to Jeffrey the Bear since you couldn't read it in Sam's hands :)

Looking way too big and old!
Everyday is so much fun, and David and I are so thankful for our sweet, happy little boy!

Random

Sam had his first homework assignment, and he is proudly showing it off.

I was told that one day at school he carried it around with him :)

His favorite toys right now at Mimmy's house are the baby dolls.  He loves to put them to sleep and tell everyone to "Shhh"

Harpeth Hills Preschool

I cannot believe that Sam is big enough to go to Preschool!!  He is having a rough time so far, but each day he is doing better.  It is going to be really good for him, since he is so attached to his mama. :)  I love that he loves me so much, but I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy a few hours every week to get things done.  He cries when he gets out of the car and on and off throughout the day, but his teachers say he is getting better.  One day he stood at the lunch room door, hitting it, saying "bye bye" over and over.  Today his teacher texted Jenny to see what putting his head on his shoulder and rubbing his back meant.  He had been doing it all morning.  I think he has figured out that I pick him up when he wakes up from his nap, so he thought if he could just go to bed that the day would be over. :)  Hopefully, he will let himself enjoy it soon!

Here are a few pictures from the first day of school:

Happy while still at home

"Cheese"

We love living close to Madison and Macey, so we can carpool.  Side note: I put Sam in a one piece outfit on purpose, so Sam couldn't get to his bellybutton, but I guess it didn't work :) notice his right hand.

Brady came out to give Sam a hug when we got to school.
His first day he did not nap, so he was one worn out little boy!!  He also would not let me put him in his bed, so he slept on my chest until I slid him off for this picture.

One day when he likes it, maybe I can get a picture of him with his teachers, Ms. Michele and Ms. Ashley.

Sneak a Peek

Sam has started preschool at Harpeth Hills Preschool.  This was Sneak a Peek on August 24.  He did not venture far from me :)

He did not where this shoe combo to Sneak a Peek, but this is what he prefers most days.

Needless to say, we get quite a few comments.  Most people love the fact that I actually allow him to go out like this :)

Sam wanted to wear my socks and shoes one day a couple of weeks ago
