Silly Sam

It's hard to believe that Sam will be 19 months next week! He has developed a big personality, and he is very silly.

At 18 months:

Very picky eater - mainly cheese and some form of bread

Bananas are the only fruit he will eat right now

He calls most people "Ma", except Pops, Bobo, and Brady

He has made up his own sign language, therefore he doesn't say many words

His words are ball, bye bye, hi, whoa, bonk, milk (sometimes; he just usually puts his finger in his mouth to ask for milk)

He communicates well even without words

Claps his fists together to say "yo, ho" (the pirate song)

He is very bossy

He is a good sleeper, usually 8 to 7 or 8

Takes 2 to 2 1/2 hour naps

Loves being outside

He was watching David mow the grass outside, and I looked over, and he had his bare belly on the cool glass

Eating a banana like a big boy

Eating his waffle with no hands

Easter

Saturday night before Easter, we went to Jenny and Jeff's house for the Church Family Easter.

Emery, Brady, Macey, Sam, Madison, Merrill, Tori

Sam thought it was funny when they all said "cheese"

Hunting eggs

Maddie Leigh is always around to help "Buddy"

The Easter Bunny came Easter morning

Sam spotted the ball as soon as he walked in the room

He has played so much with his play-doh. The best thing about it is he doesn't get the actual play-doh out. He just puts the tops on and off :)

Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet figurines were in his carrots

And bubbles!

My sweet boys!

Hope you had a Happy Easter.

What do you think?

David had facial hair for a couple of weeks per Jenny's request. Most of the men in our family are light on hair, so she asked David to grow his out in Disney. I think it made him look older. I didn't dislike it, but I wouldn't want him to have it all of the time. When he was shaving it off, I told him to keep the mustache for church that morning. However, when I saw the stache I changed my mind. :) What do you think?

Just the mustache

Hillsboro Easter Egg Hunt

March 24th David and Sam went to the egg hunt at church. I had a shower for a friend, so I missed the hunt, but it looks like they had a good time.

(notice the gray in the beard :)

This one is a little blurry, but I liked it :)

Disney!!!

We had a wonderful time in Disney World back in March, and we were excited that David got to come for most of the time. It was so fun to see Sam's reactions to everything we saw. He LOVED being outside all of the time; he basically just had to come in to sleep. I was really worried about the drive down there and how he would sleep while we were down there. Sam and I rode with Mimmy and Pops, driving through the night. He did great!! We left about 7 pm, and he went to sleep around 8:30. He was in his regular carseat, and he only slept until 10:30. Then he was awake from 10:30 to 1:30. I put him in a carseat facing backwards, so he was practically laying flat on his back. I sang to him and rubbed his cheeks and arms, but nothing helped him go to sleep. However, he hardly made a peep the whole three hours. He was content laying on his back, quietly looking around. I think he finally went to sleep when I moved to another seat and left him alone. :) Anyway he did great on the ride there, eventually sleeping from 1:30 to 6:30. He slept through us stopping at a gas station and stopping at an McDonalds for Mimmy and Pops to eat breakfast when we got there. And he slept normal while we were there. I was nervous because he was in the room with us, but we hung a sheet between his bed and ours, and he slept like normal minus a few earlier mornings. So all of my worry was for nothing. :) We had so much fun, and we can't wait to go back. Now on to the overload of pictures...

80 degrees and sunny meant a lot of this:

Magic Kingdom:

Spotting the castle

Breakfast with Pooh and friends: Sam was not a fan unless they were across the room.

Didn't want him to choke when the next character came!

Poor little guy

Now he's having fun

Sam got mad every time we had to get off of a ride.

Tori and Sam in Small World

This one is out of order--on the Village carousel

Brady and big kid Sam watching the Jack Sparrow show

Brady on stage - Jack called him "Curly" and...

told someone to get him coffee (Brady was slower than the rest in following directions :)

How Sam took his 45 min. nap--we tried 4 times to lay him back, but he got mad and sat back up to sleep

Tori and Maddie were tall enough to ride Splash Mtn--David was excited to ride too :)

Bobo, Jessie, and Sam

Mimmy, Tori, and Macey

Jeff, Madison, Brady, and Pops

Sweet cousins--Sam, Tori, Maddie, Brady, and Macey

14 1/2 hours + 5 kids + 0 meltdowns = 1 Magical Day
