Tori's Story -- Walking for a Cure!!

This past Saturday, we went to the Nashville Zoo for the Great Strides Walk, which is a fundraiser for CF. So, of course, we were walking for Tori. Tori was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis about 1 1/2 years ago. She does several breathing treatments a day, takes pills every time she eats, and does several other daily treatments. Tori is so good about doing everything, and she has the same or more energy than the average kid. We love her, and we are hoping for a cure soon!

This was Sam's first time at the Nashville Zoo. Unfortunately, he slept through all of the animals except for the elephants. He woke up in time for the swings, which he probably enjoyed more than he would the animals anyway.

My mom's aunt, Patsy Ruth, was in town and came to the walk for a few minutes. Somehow the honoree missed out on this picture, and poor Maddie Leigh was sick at home.

Patsy Ruth finally got to meet Sam. :)

Sweet Mauri. She loves Sam and is so good with him. We were sad that Tavon and Monet didn't get to come.

Sam loves his daddy!

Swinging by himself.

He had lots of fun.

We got some good laughs out of him.

We had a great day at the zoo, and most importantly lots of money was raised for a cure for CF!!!

Lately...

We haven't been up to a whole lot lately except enjoying every moment with our sweet boy! Sam is learning new things all of the time. This week he started drinking from his sippy cup instead of just chewing on it. He has also started reaching towards people when he wants to be held, and he has become a momma's boy!! (which embarrasses his daddy in public, but his momma doesn't mind it) :)

Sweet boy!!

We love when the girlies stop in to play. I think Macey got up right before the picture.

Madison is always taking care of Sam. And she was rewarded with kisses from him the other day :)

Still likes big boy food!

I don't think...

it will be long...

until...

he is crawling! Yikes!

Happy boy! (most of the time)

Mother's Day

All I have to say is that I LOVE being a mom!!!

7 Months

I really cannot believe that Sam is 7 months old. It seems like he was just born, and I am really sad that the time is going by so fast. But every stage is so much fun and brings more fun things with it. So at 7 months Sam is:

Playing all the time on the floor by himself

Saying dadadadada

Patting

Sometimes waving bye-bye

Sleeping on his belly all the time

Napping really good

Eating lots of adult food -- so far Cracker Barrell and Mexican are his favorites :)

Not the most interested in his bottles - usually a struggle during the 2 during the day

Straightening arms and grunting to let you know he wants or doesn't want something

Loving to give kisses and hugs -- still (I can't get enough!!)

Starting to be attached to Mommy and Daddy

Liking Bible class, but not the nursery so much

And he is still a very content, happy, easy baby!!

He likes anything that makes a crinkling noise

He still has blue eyes -- we'll see if they last.

He turned 7 months Easter Sunday. Happy Easter!!

Easter

Sam's first Easter was great! Grandmerry and Grandaddy, Aunt Paula and Aunt Patti, and Cousin Rachel were in town for Lads to Leaders, so we got to spend some time with them at Opryland Hotel on Saturday. We, also, got to eat with them on Sunday. And Saturday afternoon we got together with the Church side of the family at Aunt Kay and Uncle Neal's house. I think Sam was worn out by the end of the weekend, but he loved spending time with the family.

This was actually taken the week before Easter at church. Sweet boys!

Take 2

Sam's first Easter Egg Hunt. You see 2 eggs in the picture, but I think we only made it home with one because Swiper (aka Macey) swiped the blue one. :) Next year Sam will have to be a little faster.

All the kids before the clothes came off and the hose came out. So cute to watch!

Dr. Visit

We went to the doctor last week for Sam's 6 month check-up. He was funny because when the nurse and Dr. Forbess checked his vitals he laid perfectly still; I guess hoping they might go away. :) Anyway, here are his stats:

Weight: 19 pounds 1 ounce (72%)

Length: 27.75 inches (85%)

Before we went to the Dr., we noticed Sam kept swatting at his right ear, but he never fussed, stopped eating, or ran a fever. But, unfortunately, he had his first ear infection, so he has been on medicine. He has done really well taking it once he realized he didn't have a choice. One more note about the doctor. I told the doctor he wasn't making any consonant sounds b/c the sheet at the doctor said he might be, but Dr. Forbess said that was fine. But the night of his appointment, I guess he didn't like me telling on him because he started saying da-da-da-da-da. He loves talking! He has also started patting, and we are working on waving bye-bye. We'll see how long it takes him to catch on. :)

He works really hard with all of his toys. Instead of playing with them, he would rather turn them over and look at the bottom or back of them where there is nothing to see.
